The Imminent Convergence campaign takes place in the early part of the 21st century. On the surface the world appears much as it does today. Nations, corporations, and famous personalities are all the same – at least at first glance. The world is as familiar as the one outside your own window, but with subtle twists just beneath the surface.
Set in Chicago, the heroes are all employees of the Alexandria Foundation. Publically the Alexandria Foundation is a philanthropic, non-profit organization dedicated to the “preservation of the human experience”. As an organization the Foundation promotes and supports, scientific research (through financial grants and assistance), intellectual curiosity (with various museums and exhibits), and recording the history and accomplishments of mankind (through their libraries and archives).
Because of the Foundation’s goals and research the organization has come into contact with what can only be called “the unknown” throughout its history. They have been exposed to the paranormal, the supernatural, and the unexplained. This has lead to the Alexandria Foundation’s private goal; investigating and understanding the unknown; what the Foundation calls “anomalous circumstances”, and in some cases, protecting humanity from from these things.
Welcome to the world of the Alexandria Foundation. A world of the peculiar and the unexplainable, a world where the “can’t be true” has been replaced by the “anything is possible,” a world where mysterious players weave a drama of secrets and disinformation. Anomalous circumstances are on the rise approaching an enigmatic crescendo the Foundation has labeled an “Imminent Convergence”. Whether ushering in an era of enlightenment, or heralding the destruction of mankind, the only thing capable of safely navigating this convergence is knowledge: knowledge of what’s out there, what it’s trying to accomplish, and how to deal with it.
